Crushing Defeat - Tropilium Rising

Dreaming of their once powerful nation, Tropilium invades Stygustani territory. Led by the local Hero, Ego Cibum, and outnumbering their enemy, the Tropilium army rolls forward.

Tropilium forces advance towards the Stygustani. Archery fire from the chariots drive off the Tropilium LC and score a hit on the Hero. Mages attempt to cast spell but fail.

Tropilium Hero crashes into the Stygustan archers and CinC and battle ensues. Archers rout.

Mages fire a blast spell, routing one Tropilium unit but the Hero continues to deliver casualties to the enemy CinC unit.

More Tropilum units join the fray, the weaker Stygustani infantry rout away and their CinC leads the rout.

Stygustan losses are 1 Axemen, 1 Archers, 1 Treyine Archers.

  1. Looks like splitting up to face two invaders was a bad idea. It also appears that heroes are a little more useful than magic. I wish Tereken still had one.

  3. Very nice. Did you create the top down bases, or are they available commercially please?

  4. Tropilium Rising? Sounds like a thriller by Jack Higgins or Clive Cussler.

Tropilium passes 2 dice on National Morale. They will eagerly pursue the war next season.
Stygustan passes 1 die on National Morale. They are on shaky ground versus Tropilium but will not capitulate yet.

  5. Do they check again for Altengard war?

    1. Oops, yes, good catch. I need to wait until the Altengard battle before rolling. Then I apply all the relevant modifiers and roll separately for each nation they are at war with. So, we know that Tropilium is happy to carry on the war, but we don't know what Stygustan really feels. If Stygustan loses versus Altengard then the result will stand. If they win, I shall need to re-roll applying modifiers for losing in one area and winning in the other.

  6. Couldn't they make separate peaces with each nation?

    1. Yes, they can make separate peace and National Morale can go down twice the way I manage it. I apply all modifiers from all wars to the NM roll though, because I figure that a win in one area might cancel out a loss in another area for NM purposes.

    2. Following on from this, we fought the Stygustan/Altengard battle tonight. Stygustani morale held rock solid against Altengard, despite the losses they suffered. Stygustan will remain at war next season against both of its enemies.
